Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his first trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved service.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early chances in a close third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
